Chocolate Hazelnut Filled French Toast

This is a real quick recipe that I made for breakfast.  I usually do the traditional classic style french toast but wanted to try something different with Justin’s Hazelnut spread.  The combination of the awesome hazelnut spread melted in between two pieces of bread made this french toast literally to die for.  I think chocolate spread would work just as well if you are allergic to hazelnut.

Ingredients:

4 Slices of Udi’s gluten free bread or any bread of your choosing

2 Organic eggs

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 cup Vanilla almond milk

1/4 tsp Sea salt (optional)

2 tsp Horizon’s organic butter

4 tbsp Justin’s chocolate hazelnut spread or chocolate spread

Organic cane powder sugar (as desired)

Directions:

1. In a steep plate, combine and beat eggs with almond milk along with the cinnamon.  Then set aside for later.

2.  Spread chocolate hazelnut spread on one slice of bread and place another slice right on top.

3.  Put the sandwich slices in the egg mixture until it is thoroughly coated all over.

4.  Take a pan and melt the  butter and cook the sandwich bread slices for about 2 minutes on each side or until the french toast is cooked to your liking.

5.  Top off the french toast with some powder sugar and serve with maple syrup. Enjoy!

It looks so tempting. Love the idea of using choc spread for the filling. My daughter will definitely love it.

My kids and I love french toast, and I do make this a lot, but I’ve never even thought of adding Nutella in the french toast. Absolutely brilliant and I’m making this soon. Super excited!
