Steam fish fillet with black bean garlic sauce

This is a good quick dish for company or yourself if you find yourself pressed for time.  This is more of a traditional Chinese dish and usually is served with a side or rice and some vegetables of your choosing.  So I’m calling all seafood lovers out there to give this a try and let me know what you think.  I am looking forward to hear how this recipe came out for you.

Ingredients:

1/2 to 1 lb of Fillet Fish (Grey Sole, Flounder, Cat fish, Sway fish or your fillet of choice)

3 strips of Cilantro

2 cloves of Fresh Garlic

1 tsp of Sesame Oil

1 tbsp of Blackbean Garlic Sauce

4 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/2 tsp of Organic Cane Sugar

Directions:

Prep Notes: In order to make your life even easier, it would be a good idea to get a steamer and fill it with water up to a little over an inch high and bring it to a boil.  You do not need too much water since the fish only needs to be cooked for 10-12 minutes.

1. Start chopping up the cilantro.

2. Chop up the fresh garlic cloves.

3. Wash the fish fillet and set aside on a steep dish to be marinated.

4. You will need to use some black bean sauce garlic sauce (can be found in a local Asian grocery store).

5. Mix 1 tbsp of black bean garlic sauce with the garlic and also a 1/2 tsp of organic cane sugar (or sugar) together.

6. Add marinade mix to the fish fillet and make sure its marinated on both sides of the fish.

7. Once the pot of water is boiling (and should be if you did the recommended prep mentioned above) put the fish fillet in the steamer and steam for 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily.

8. In a small pan, heat up some extra virgin olive oil, one minute before the fish is about to be done steaming.

9. Once fish is done, remove fish from the steamer, garnish the fish fillet with cilantro on top and pour the heated oil on top of the fish fillet.

10. Now you are all set! Serve with some rice and vegetable sides and enjoy. This dish could serve 2.
