Meatless meat sauce served over penne pasta

This is a meatless meat sauce dish that is great for on the run and if you are strapped for time.  It serves as a great lunch or dinner for adults and kids. So for the vegetarians out there, this one may be up your alley.

Ingredients:

1 box Whole Wheat Penne Pasta

1 box of ground smart original protein crumble

1 box mushrooms sliced

1 can diced tomatoes

1 jar of Italian sauce of your choice or your homemade version

2 tbs Italian seasoning

1 glove smashed garlic

Directions:

1. Boil whole wheat penne pasta to el dente or 9-10 minutes, drain pasta and set aside.

2. In a heated pan, add in some extra virgin olive oil and garlic.

3. Throw in the ground smart original protein crumble and heat up for a couple of minutes.

4. Add in jar of Italian sauce along with the can of diced tomatoes. Let simmer for a few minutes.

5. Then add in mushrooms and simmer for a few more minutes and sauce is ready to serve along with the penne pasta.
